heyyyyyyyy! im ciara :)
a 26 y/o corporate dropout who couldn't stand the claustrophobic, unfulfilling 9-5 lifestyle. just recently i took this full-time because i'm just a girl who remembered life is short—so i had to abort :-P
preGAME started back in 2019 with my beloved drink if - just a stack of notecards and a sharpie that turned into a New Year's Eve party game. we had so much fun playing that i started making more games for literally every occasion. my friends kept pushing me to share the fun, so on may 19th 2020 (five months later), i posted a tiktok of my first game (drink if, of course), listed it on etsy, got my first sale... and the rest is history! (nah jk, i wish it was that swift.)
a year later, i graduated from Clemson University in 2021. at that point, i wasn't even thinking about doing preGAME full time. instead, i got pushed to work that 9-5, because that's what we're told we have to do to be successful, right? 😭
until you get a measly $1,000 raise at your two-year review—basically a slap in the face— and suddenly, you know you've got to do something to GTFO :D
after 2.5 years of pretending in the corporate world, everything changed on a random day in april of 2024. i posted a tiktok showing the drinking games i’d been designing over the past four years—and it went viral.(they aren't kidding when they say tiktok videos are like lottery tickets)
two weeks later, i gave my company one week's notice and quit on a whim to take this dream full-time!
so yeah, sometimes life detours us a little. but when you trust in the universe, it has a way of bringing you right back where you're meant to be. :)
